THE LOYAL OPPOSITION

No matter what your party affiliation, January 20th, 2009 was another example of how republics transition power peacefully. We are all blessed to live in this republic. President Barack H. Obama has a full plate of responsibilities to assume in the coming hours, days and months. Although, this writer punched the ballot on November 4, 2008 for his opponent, I pray that President Obama is successful in leading our nation out of our current fiscal infirmity and provides 200% support for our military commanders and troops to successfully engage and defeat the enemies of the greatest country on earth, the United States of America. Of course, President Obama will fail in his fiscal endeavors if he continues to trumpet socialistic remedies. Failed socialist nations clutter our planet earth. President Obama must be very careful not to engage in policies that will lead to placement of America in the same trash heap of failed nations. Hopefully, he and our congress will engage their common senses and not micro manage what has become a more difficult place for all of us because of excessive government intervention in our economic and social structures. January 20, 2009 (Inaugural Day)

What path will America take beginning January 20, 2009? Many, including this writer, forsee a path that will lead to more government intrusion into our lives and end in a socialist utopia where the individual is less regarded than an obedient group. I have watched the media coverage of Obama for the past two days beginning with his train ride from Philadelphia to Washington. Obama's arrival in Washington was much like a welcoming of a King to his court. The national media is a disgrace. My late father, a journalist, would not recognize today's media. He would curse them all. He would immediately recognize that our media has become a ship of socialist fools with an agenda. Instead of facts being presented, he would see misinformation being bounded about to promote a socialist agenda. America represents to me a land where individualism and productive work contribute to liberty and a sound economy. There are no guarantees in life....no guarantee of success. Our constitution gives us the right to "pursuit of happiness" and nowhere does it guarantee happiness. We are given the right to pursue our own lives free of dominion or forced confiscation from government. The Obama disciples will soon learn that they have voted for a man of no accomplishment or principle. They have voted for nothing more than a community organizer (group herder). Those who will ordain Obama as the "second coming" will soon realize that he does not believe in our sacred Constitution and will promote the chiselment of our Constitution into a different shape and content that would be foreign to the original writers some 230 years ago. Yes, depite all the celebration and shouting from the masses, reality is about to hit America broadside. The path we are about to take will be filled with despair, disillusionment and betrayal. There are many of us, 57 million in fact, who understand where this new path is going to take us. We brace for the future knowing that the wayward course at hand can be corrected if enough of our misinformed fellow citizens can find their common sense once more.

NOVEMBER 4TH, 2008 (Election Day)

This will be the 11th Presidential election that I have cast my vote. Never have the stakes been higher than they are with the upcoming election on November 4th. I have voted Republican in every presidential election for I have believed it has been the party both of less government and less taxation. Although in this decade, the Republican Party has been less bullish on the aforementioned virtures of a free republic, I believe the immediate future holds a return to these core values of the Republican party. Of course, this optimism on my part, will only occur with the elections of John McCain and Sarah Palin this coming November 4th. Both candidates espouse reform in Washington that will reduce government and insure that both the common working man and woman along with businessess will not be saddled with higher taxes. Barack Obama and Joe Biden both reflect the belief that government should do more which demands that more money, yours and mine, be collected to pay for theses programs which they sorely wish for us all to be burdened by. Of course, I am one man with one vote. My vote will be registered affirmatively on behalf of my country November 4th.
